So I'm 5 minutes and 21 seconds into the movie Numb staring my man Matthew Perry. Ugh I loved him in Friends =/. I'd have to say he quite possibly could be my favourite. I don't know though. STOP PRESSURING ME. Anyways. Well the character he plays in the movie has a disease called "depersonalisation", and it occured to him from smoking too much one night.....at least that's what I think happened...So. At one point in the past 5 minutes(haha), he was at the cash register, and his view of everything became dizzy, with different focal points than normal. And then I realized, HEY, I GET THIS SOMETIMES. Not as intense, but think about it! Don't we alll just not feel like ourselves? Don't we just look at everything around us and feel like we're not ourselves, we're just watching our life in third person? Now think about having to have this feeling every single day, every single minute and second of your LIFE. That's pretty scary, if you ask me. Now the definitions above ^ don't really satisfy the tension that I saw from what he was seeing while experiencing depersonalisation. I feel like it means something more social than psychological. But I guess it'll have to do. So this was my thought as soon as I saw this. I should've probably waited to type this up until I finished watching the movie to have a better understanding of this disorder, however I couldn't handle waiting haha. I think what happens is he finds this lady and she makes him feel like himself blahblahblah. Try watching the movie, maybe!
Anyways, this was cool beans. Have an awesome rest of your day! Adieu x.

Yeah i saw this movie as well, and i think it's something we all go through at one time or another. I often find myself wondering if im wasting time doing the wrong thing with my life, hanging out with the wrong people, doing the wrong things, and i end up feeling depersonalized!! so i don't think your alone in this. Everybody has their demons, its fun to work through them and see if the grass is greener on the other side.
